Green, purple, blue.
Sometimes I get mad at blue for being so pretentious. “Oh I’m blue, EVERYBODY loves blue…” Sooooo annoying.
(Geek mention, because I’m watching Hellboy II + a bunch of horror movies today in honor of Halloween (fyi, ending it all off with Event Horizon): Hellboy was shot in only the colors blue, red, and yellow. Beat that.)
Day Four: Write about your closest friends.
Husband. He is mine.

Carrie. We bonded over Superstar and rebellion against high school trends (which, in itself, is a trend). Now we bond over coffee.
Erka. Really Erika, but I call her Erka. She goes like this: O_o … she draws all over herself, and is awesomeness.

Bleach-blonde dude? SPIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIKE!!! Joss Whedon in charge of something awesome? DON’T LET FOX TOUCH IT THEY WILL KILL IT DEAD.
Day 2: Talk about your piercings or tattoos, if you have any.
Two holes in each ear. Would look fantastic with a nose or eyebrow ring, possibly a lip ring. However, may have passed the appropriate time of life for such a venture.
One tattoo on left foot: ‘faith’ in Hebrew.
One tattoo on left wrist: “iloveyou” for Sister, and a flower next to it (have been drawing/perfecting flower since the beginning of time).
Had a Halloween party tonight. It rocked. I got about 10 people to simultaneously become hooked on the newer season of Doctor Who. WOO MATT SMITH (who is apparently now 28)!!! :)
Day One: Your middle name and how you feel about it.
Joyce. It is old-timey and reminds me of a sweet old lady that lives next door to every person in suburbia, which I am not. It’s also a hand-me-down from my mom and her mom, so… that’s good…
Husband is freaking stupid.
He called Emmett (Cullen/McCarty btw) a fancy Mama’s boy who doesn’t look like a vampire at all. I practically chewed his head off about it.
This, on top of his decision that he’s Team Edward…
… and the fact that he dreamed he was competing on ANTM last night. There was runway involved, and he couldn’t find his clothes, and Mr. Jay wouldn’t let him be in the show anymore.

I’ve been back on my Bella/Anyone Else fixation. A couple of stories have stood out, one a Carlisle/Bella, the other my favorite: Jasper/Bella.
Title: Near to You

Summary: Years after Edward left in NM, Bella has moved on with her life, now living in a small town. But when her path crosses someone from Forks, Bella must choose between the life she has made for herself and the one she is destined for.
Review: Bloody addicting, and overall methodical about its establishment of the relationship between Carlisle and Bella. I love that, when they actually take the time to make a relationship develop normally, and they don’t jump on each other at the first given opportunity. I’m SUPER skeptical about Carlisle/Bella most of the time, but this one has definitely won me over.

Summary: When Edward confesses his motivation for leaving Bella, she realizes she cannot offer him a second chance. Her insistence for closure is met with the realization that one member of the family has no intentions of leaving her unprotected again.
Review: I’m a sucker for Jasper/Bella when it’s done correctly, and this one truly is. Again, it’s not about them jumping each other’s bones, but instead it’s about Jasper stepping up and doing the right thing without the Cullens. Plus, we get an appearance from Peter and Charlotte. I’m also a sucker for them (most especially when Peter’s a know-it-all a******, because that’s when he’s in top form… unfortunately we haven’t seen that Peter in Long Way Down… yet.).

Summary: Set a year after Edward leaves in NM. Bella’s anger helps her ignore her fears and pain, but when someone threatens to break down her walls, can she keep her heart safe from him? Does she want to?
Review: Okay, honestly I’ve only read the first couple of chapters, and while it’s not super promising… it’s Jasper/Bella, so what can I do? I’ll probably take Golden Moon any day over any of this tripe.
I’ve also wanted to check out any new Marauder-era fan fictions. I tend to like Hermione/Marauder, because let’s face it, Hermione is the herpes/glitter of Harry Potter fandom. You can hook her up with anything. Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything worth mentioning.
Something that DID stand out last month was a Breakfast Club Bender/Claire fic.

Pairing: Bender/Claire
Summary: In memory of John Hughes. Neither knows if they’ll have more than those stolen moments, but each feels those moments are worth more than, well, diamonds. Are they as hard to break? It just keeps going and going.
Rating: <3 Claire/Bender when fleshed out. It’s a difficult relationship to make work, but candysays totally does it, with an intelligent Claire who forces herself to learn how to influence Bender for the good, to love him around his faults and to coax him out of his self-hatred and into a stable, adult relationship. Pretty freaking awesome. :)
